Heinrich Andreas Sophus Petersen (born April 22, 1834 in Altona , † February 16, 1916 in Hamburg ) was a German marine painter.

Heinrich Andreas Sophus Petersen was the son and student of the marine painter Lorenz Petersen (1803–1870). He painted in the style of his father. After Lorenz Petersen's death, he began working with his uncle Peter Christian Holm (1823–1888), who had worked with his father since 1858.

His customers were mostly captains and owners of sailing ships.

He lived permanently in Altona and often visited the port of Hamburg to paint sailing ships. He was a member of the Altona Masonic Lodge Carl zum Felsen .
