Heinrich Dickerhoff (born June 10, 1953 in Essen ) is a German theologian , educator , storyteller , author and editor .

life and work

Heinrich Dickerhoff studied Catholic theology , history and Jewish studies at the Wilhelms-Universität Münster from 1972 to 1978 . He received his doctorate in 1981. Since around 1993 he has made a name for himself as a professional storyteller, author and editor of fairy tales. In addition, he regularly holds seminars on theology and pedagogy and workshops on the art of fairy tale telling, whereby these three topics often merge into one another. This “blurring of boundaries” can also be understood as the core of his approach to the various topics, as he sees these as neighboring or even mutually influencing elements. The title of his publication The Search for the Hidden Treasure: With Fairy Tales Asking God (2009) can be understood as an example of this .

Dickerhoff's publications, fairy tale collections and the like, are often characterized by a clearly recognizable focus on the linguistic nature of the texts. So, unlike in many “usual” fairy tale collections, you can often find information on the pronunciation of certain names, advice and comments on the narrative style, possible narrative reasons, and the like. As a storyteller, he particularly devotes himself to Nordic and Celtic fairy tales.

Heinrich Dickerhoff lives with his family in Cloppenburg.
