Heinrich I (Abbot of Marienstatt)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich I is the fourth abbot of the Marienstatt Abbey . His election as abbot took place in 1228, his abbatiate ended in 1235, this is documented on the "Marienstatter Tafeln". During his tenure, the convent must have planned the Gothic monastery, which began in 1243, i.e. after Heinrich's death. His predecessor Konrad I moved from the original settlement at the Altenklosterhof near Neunkhausen .
