Heinrich I. von Schwalenberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich I von Schwalenberg († 1279 ) was Count von Sternberg from 1243 .

He came from the family of the Counts of Schwalenberg . His parents were Count Volkwin IV. Von Schwalenberg and his wife Ermengardis.

Heinrich built Neu-Sternberg and named himself after it since 1243. The area included the Tilithigau with Barntrup , Alverdissen , Bösingfeld , Salzuflen and other places.

Only as Vogt of Herford and Möllenbeck did he have a certain influence. In 1257, for example, he settled a diocese dispute in Osnabrück in favor of Bishop Bruno von Isenberg . Otherwise he sank to a meaningless level and led many pointless feuds .

Marriage and offspring

He married a daughter of Count Heinrich II von Woldenburg and had the following children with her:

  • Hoyer I. , Count von Sternberg (1282), first documented mention from 1252 to 1299, († (around 1303)); ∞ () Agnes zur Lippe , first documented mention 1266 to 1307
