Heinrich Klose (hymn poet)

Heinrich Klose , also Kloß , (* in the 16th century; † March 6, 1651 ) was a German hymn poet . Until 1629 he worked as a teacher in Schweidnitz , after which he went to the Elisabethanum in Breslau as a professor . In 1634 he became rector of the Maria Magdalenen grammar school . In 1633 he published a prayer collection in Breslau, the name of which refers to the plague that spread from 1631 to 1634 . In this work he published some of his sacred songs, which later became part of the Breslau hymnbook and others.
