Heinrich von Malterdingen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich von Malterdingen (mentioned 1454–1481 / 82) was a Swiss carver.

Live and act

Heinrich von Malterdingen was accepted into the spinning weather guild in Basel in 1454 , which united the building trade and the woodworking trades. The following year he also bought into the Guild of Heaven . Since the painters were connected there, he was likely to have mainly made painted carved altars. In 1477 and 1479 he delivered two wooden figures to the Andreas Chapel of the saffron guild and apparently worked with the painter Hans Gilgenberg. However, preserved works cannot be assigned to him with certainty.
