Heinz Dobler (computer scientist)

Heinz Dobler (born February 13, 1962 in Schärding , Austria ) is an Austrian computer scientist .

Life

Dobler attended elementary and secondary school in Schärding from 1968 to 1976 , then the commercial academy and graduated in 1981 with the Matura . From 1981 to 1986 he completed his degree in computer science at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz .

From 1987 he was a lecturer at the JKU and from 1987 to 1993 first research assistant and then (university) assistant at the Institute for Computer Science (headed by Peter Rechenberg ). In 1993 he completed his doctoral studies with a doctorate. From 1994 to 1995 he was a research assistant at the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Methods and Tools in Software Engineering (headed by Gustav Pomberger ).

In 1994 he became a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria on the Hagenberg campus in the software engineering course. One year later, in 1995, he became a full-time lecturer and in 2001 finally a FH professor at this institution. From 2006 to 2014 he was head of the master's degree in software engineering, and since 2014 he has been head of the bachelor's degree in software engineering.
