Heinz Illigen

Heinz Illigen (born August 27, 1937 in Lustenau ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and civil engineer. From 1984 to 1989 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Illigen attended elementary and secondary school in Dornbirn between 1943 and 1951 and then graduated from 1951 to 1956 at the Federal Trade School in Innsbruck , where he also passed the Matura in 1956 . From 1956 he studied civil engineering at the technical universities of Graz and Darmstadt and graduated in 1962 in Graz with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. from. From 1962 he worked as a structural engineer at the Dornbirn engineering office A. Zerlauth and after obtaining his civil engineering license in 1968, he became a partner in the engineering office and an independent civil engineer. After the death of his partner in 1988, he ran the civil engineering office as sole owner until 1999. From 1979 to 2007, Illigen was also a partner in the civil engineering office for municipal water technology in Dornbirn. In 2007 Illigen retired.

Politics and functions

During his studies Illigen was active in 1957 with the CV student association “Traungau” in Graz and between 1959 and 1960 with the CV student association “Rheinpfalz” in Darmstadt. Furthermore he worked from 1965 to 1970 as chairman of the CV-Altherrenzirkel Dornbirn. Illigen joined the Austrian People's Party in 1969 and was a member of the Economic Association . He was involved with the Wirtschaftsbund as a secretary and from 1984 to 1989 as a member of the district management of the Wirtschaftsbund Dornbirn. In addition, he was within the ÖVP from 1984 to 1989 member of the ÖVP district leadership in Dornbirn and during these years also a member of the ÖVP state party leadership. At the local level he worked from 1970 to 1985 as a member of the Dornbirn city council, after which he was a substitute member of the Dornbirn city council from 1985 to 1990. On November 6, 1984, Illigen was engaged as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament as a member of the constituency of Dornbirn , and was a member of the state parliament until October 23, 1989.

Private

Heinz Illigen was born as the son of the textile technician Walter Illigen from Hard. His mother Brunhilde Hämmerle was born in Lustenau. Heinz Illgen married Edith Bilgeri in 1967 and had a daughter in 1968 and a son in 1971.
