Heinz Irmler

Heinz Irmler (* 1942 in Vienna ) is an Austrian classical guitarist.

Life

Irmler studied guitar at the Vienna Conservatory with Robert Brojer . From 1965 he taught as a professor at the Art University in Graz . From 1983 as an associate professor and later as a full professor, he was head of an artistic training class for guitar.

He played as a soloist, but above all in a duo with Elisabeth Irmler, with the flautist Herbert Irmler and with the ensemble "Art of Cibulka". There were numerous world premieres of works dedicated to the guitar duo Irmler, including concerts for two guitars and orchestra by Franz Cibulka and David Johnston and world premiere of the concerto for guitar and large orchestra by Franz Cibulka.

Jovan Pesec dedicated numerous compositions to Heinz Irmler for classical guitar and Jovaluna, a double-choir quart guitar tuned to the original note of the moon.
