Heinz Lehner

Heinz Lehner (born May 19, 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1994 to 2014 Lehner was district chairman of the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf .

Lehner graduated from a higher technical college in 1969, specializing in communications and high-frequency technology, and in the same year joined the Austrian Federal Railways , where he passed the service examination to become a dispatcher. In 1971 he also trained as a technical specialist and was a teacher in the central schools of the ÖBB from 1971 to 1990, where he participated in the training of dispatchers and young technicians. In addition, from 1972 to 1990 he was responsible for the planning and management of the operation of the motorway telecommunication systems, with various central tasks in the General Directorate of the Austrian Federal Railways (construction and electrical engineering service).

Lehner was district councilor in Floridsdorf from 1983 and became district secretary of the SPÖ-Floridsdorf in 1990. On March 6, 1991, Lehner took over the office of deputy district chairman in Floridsdorf, and on February 2, 1994 he was elected district chairman, which he was until his replacement by Georg Papai in March 2014. Since March 2009 Lehner has also been Deputy Chairman of the SPÖ Town Hall Club.

Lehner has been widowed since 2015 and has one son.
