Career in motorsport
Heinz Martin was active in national and international GT and sports car racing in the 1970s . He competed in the German Automobile Circuit Championship in an Opel GT and competed in the German Racing Championship with an Opel Commodore .
In 1976 he drove some races in the sports car world championship . He finished sixth overall in the 6 Hours of Silverstone and ninth overall in the 24 Hours of Le Mans .
