Heinz hose
Heinz Hose (born November 13, 1915 in Gera , † February 21, 1945 in the Lower Rhine ) was a German swimmer and Olympic participant. He started for Neptun Gera and for Poseidon Erfurt .
He won three German championships over 100 m backstroke: 1937 , 1938 and 1939 .
He took the same route together with Hans Schwarz and Erwin Simon at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin . As ninth in the semifinals in 1: 10.8 minutes, he narrowly missed the final of the top eight, but was the best German participant.
His great moment came two years later at the European Championships in London in 1938 , where he won the gold medal in 1: 09.0 minutes ahead of his compatriot Gerhard Nüske (silver in 1: 10.8 minutes) and the Hungarian Árpád Lengyel (bronze in 1: 12.0 min.) Won.
