Heinz Schneider (Mayor)
Heinz Schneider (born March 21, 1921 in Lossen , Brieg district , Upper Silesia province ; † September 9, 2003 ) was a German local politician ( SPD ).
Career
Schneider was elected mayor of Geretsried in 1968. In 1974 and 1980 he was confirmed in office. For reasons of age, he did not run for the mayoral election in 1986.
During his tenure, Geretsried was promoted to town in 1970. The Heinz Schneider ice rink is named after him.
