Heinz Voetmann

Heinz Voetmann (born August 2, 1928 in Kalkar ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed an apprenticeship in toolmaking and in 1951 passed the master's examination in this profession . He continued his education in evening courses, passed the special matriculation examination and studied at the Vocational Education Institute and at the University of Cologne from 1952 to 1955. After passing the relevant exams, he was a teacher at vocational and vocational schools, most recently as director of studies.

Voetmann has been a member of the CDU since 1964. He was active in numerous party committees, so u. a. from 1968 to 1975 as chairman of the CDU district party Rhein / Wupper.

MP

From May 28, 1975 to May 30, 1990 Voetmann was a member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 052 Rhein-Wupper-Kreis II and 023 Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis II.

He was a member of the city council of Wermelskirchen from 1964 to 1994, and was mayor from 1969 to 1994 . In 1994 the city of Wermelskirchen made Voetmann an honorary citizen .
