Heinz Wunderlich (writer)

Heinz Wunderlich (born August 25, 1907 in Leipzig ; † October 3, 1990 ) was a German physician and playwright.

His work, some of which has enjoyed international success, includes plays, grotesques, children's plays and musicals .

His best-known works include musicals such as Prairie Saloon (1958), a popular theater piece that was filmed twice for television and with which u. a. Freddy Quinn went on tour. With Heinz Erhardt and Hanne Wieder it was also successful on records . The criminal musical Wonderful Chicago , for which Charly Niessen wrote the music, was also particularly successful in the performance with Edith Hancke, which was also documented for the record . With the composer Franz Josef Breuer , Wunderlich also wrote a number of popular children's musicals from 1970 onwards .

The Low German play Kiek mol wedder in , which goes back to Wunderlich, has been a long-running hit on Low German stages for years , as was the musical The Most Beautiful Man on the Reeperbahn, a great success of the Ohnsorg Theater .
