Brikama thermal power station

The Brikama thermal power station is an oil-fired power station in the city of Brikama in the West African state of Gambia .

The power plant went into operation at the end of 2006 and has since improved the supply of electrical energy in the West Coast region . The 25 megawatt power plant with four power plant blocks is operated with heavy fuel oil . The 15 million euro investment was financed and built by the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development . It is operated by the Global Trading Group (GTG). It is the first independent electricity supplier in the Gambia.
