The Hector Icefall is an 8 km long and arched glacial break on the south coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It's at the head of Sherratt Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1960 after Hektor Whaling Company , a British and 1912-1931 on Deception Iceland established whaling company , whose ships are operated mainly in the waters around the South Shetland Islands.
