The Sherrat Bay is a bay on the south coast of King George Iceland in the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Cape Melville and Penguin Island .
The bay has been known to seal hunters since the 1820s. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after Richard Sherratt (1774-unknown), captain of the Robben catcher Lady Trowbridge from Liverpool , who on 25 December 1820 at the Cape Melville wrecked .
