Helga Daub

Helga Daub b. Helga Dornseif (born June 12, 1942 in Elberfeld , Wuppertal ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After completing secondary school in 1960 in Neuchâtel , Switzerland , Helga Daub attended the hotel management school in Dortmund , which she finished in 1962 as a hotel clerk. She then worked in hotels in Switzerland until 1966 . She has been working in the family business Alb since 1966 . Daub oHG in Wilnsdorf .

Helga Daub is married and has two children.

Political party

She has been a member of the FDP since 1980. From 1996 to 2005 she was chairwoman of the FDP district association Siegen-Wittgenstein and also a member of the district committee of Westphalia- West.

MPs

From 1999 to 2003 Helga Daub was a member of the district assembly of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and was there until October 2002 as chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group .

From 2002 to 2005 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Defense policy was the main focus of her political activity.

In 2009 she received 10.0% of the first votes in her constituency. Via the state list of the FDP she became a member of the German Bundestag again and chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group in the committee for economic cooperation and development as well as a full member of the committee for tourism. In the 2013 federal election , she could no longer move into the Bundestag because the FDP failed to meet the 5 percent hurdle .
