Helge Orten (born October 25, 1966 in Midsund ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre . He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .
Life
After graduating from secondary school, Orten studied economics at Norges Handelshøyskole from 1985 to 1989 . He then worked in various positions until 2013, including as CFO at Sjøvik AS between 1991 and 2003. In the years 1991 to 1995 and again from 1999 to 2011 Orten sat in the local parliament of his home municipality Midsund . From 2003 he was the mayor of the municipality at that time. He then sat in the Fylkesting of Møre og Romsdal until 2013 .
Orten moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There he represents the constituency of Møre og Romsdal and he became a member of the Transport and Communication Committee. After the 2017 election , he took over the chairmanship of the committee.
