Helge Röbbert

Helge Röbbert (born March 27, 1966 in Celle ) is a German local politician ( independent ) and has been the mayor of the Lower Saxony city ​​of Soltau since November 2014 .

Life

Röbbert grew up in Soltau and graduated in 1985 graduated from high school at the high school Soltau . After completing his training and further training as a health insurance business economist at AOK Soltau, he moved from the auditing service to Halberstadt in 1993 , where he set up an AOK training center. At the same time, he completed a further education in education at the University of Halle . Since 1995 Röbbert has been working as a state auditor in the testing service at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs . In 1996 he moved back to Soltau.

In 2014 Röbbert applied to a tender to search for a new mayor in his hometown. The parties jointly looked for a successor and selected him as one of three candidates. In the election on May 25, 2014, he received the most with 36.1 percent of the votes cast, but had to face his rival Silke Thorey-Elbers in a runoff on June 15. With 61.7 percent, he obtained the required absolute majority and took over the business of his predecessor Wilhelm Ruhkopf on November 1, 2014 .

Röbbert lives in Soltau with his wife and two daughters.
