Helger Hauck

Helger Hauck (born December 10, 1942 in Melk ) is an Austrian medical physicist and former university professor.

Life

After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Melk in 1960, he studied mathematics and physics at the University of Vienna from 1960 to 1967 and then received his doctorate as Dr. phil . From 1964 he was also a research assistant at the Institute for Medical Physics and became a university assistant after graduation. In 1979 , Hauck completed his habilitation as professor for medical physics at the University of Vienna. In 1990 he was appointed associate professor .

Since 1976 he has been working as an expert for immissions and emissions issues. Since 1986 he has been a member of the commission for air pollution control in the Austrian Academy of Sciences and since 1992 its deputy. Chairman. From 1986 to 2001 he was a board member of the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) and President of the 12th ISAM Congress 1999 in Vienna. He was also Vice President of the Austrian Biophysical Society from 1998 to 2004 .

In 2004 he retired.
