Hello Bank (spelling Hello bank! ) Is the brand of the BNP Paribas SA branch in Austria , based in Salzburg . From its foundation in 1995 to July 20, 2015, the bank was called direktanlage.at . It maintains customer centers in Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Salzburg and Vienna. The Austrian branch has around 80,000 customers.
history
The bank was founded in 1995 by the then Salzburger Kredit- und Wechsel-Bank and the long-standing CEO Ernst Huber; online trading was introduced in 1998. In 2000 the business-to-business area was started . The first branch was opened in the same year. The volksbankdirekt.at customers were taken over in 2001. The German DAB Bank took over the direct investment in 2002. The savings book was introduced in 2004 and the current account in 2005 . There have been free online salary / pension accounts since 2013. In cooperation with Bausparkasse Wüstenrot , building society savings have been offered since 2014 . The core business of Hello bank! specializes in the securities business (online brokerage). The direct bank carries out more than 1 million securities transactions annually for private and business customers and is the market leader in this segment in Austria with the largest independent product range. The bank has been part of the French BNP Paribas group since December 17, 2014 .
renaming
On July 20, 2015, the bank was renamed from direktanlage.at to Hello bank! . The Hello bank! already existed for BNP Paribas online banks in France, Italy and Belgium. By renaming, the bank was brought into line with this brand, but retained its own banking license. In the course of the name change, according to the CEO, the company wants to expand the product range and offer the full range of banking and financial services.
In August 2017 it was announced that the bank was withdrawing its banking license from Hello bank! became a branch of BNP Paribas from October 1st 2017 , the name Hello bank! was retained as a brand of BNP Paribas.
