Lava is a music album released in 2004 by the German band Das Ich . It was released in two different versions: Lava: Glut is the normal album that was released together with a DVD, Lava: Asche is a remix album in which Terminal Choice and Wumpscut were involved in two songs. In addition, there is a US version of the album and a release intended for France.

The cover of both album versions shows the heads of the three band members one behind the other, whereby it is colored red for embers and yellow for ashes . In the editions, only the album name Lava is shown under the band logo , only the colors show which version it is. Each cover is a reflection of the other.

Musically, the album continues the path that it began with the previous album Anti'christ . The electronic sound generation is paired with classical instrument groups, the drums are even more impulsive than before.

The texts written by Ackermann revolve around the topics of death and life, love and hate as well as joy and suffering, although they are less end-time than was the case with Anti'christ . Also, these are hardly blasphemous , as was the case with earlier publications.

Others

  • Kain Gabriel Simon , who was used as live keyboardist from 2001 to 2006 and who makes the background vocals on the Lava album together with Kramm, is listed in the booklet as a permanent member of the band. It is the first time that the band consists of more people than Kramm and Ackermann.
  • Once on the album Anti'christ the texts of the booklet in Gothic script , however, were printed only with round "s" is lava now back in Antiqua printed. The typography used comes from Tina Kramm .
  • The penultimate song on the ash version of the album is listed as another version of "Schwarzer Stern", but it is more a further version of "Vulkan", which however contains parts of the lyrics from "Schwarzer Stern". However, the proportion of "volcano" clearly predominates here.
