The Helmertbank is a bank in the Antarctic Weddell Sea . It is located not far from the Coatsland coast at a depth of at least 400 m below sea level.

It was named at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . It is named after the German geodesist Friedrich Robert Helmert (1843–1917). The designation was confirmed in July 1997 by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
