Helmut Hahn

Helmut Hahn (born March 2, 1937 in Cologne ) is a German physician and microbiologist . From 2000 to 2014 he was chairman of the Berlin Medical Society and is the acting chairman of the Koch-Metschnikow-Forum .

Life

Hahn was a full professor at the Free University of Berlin from 1977 until his retirement in 2005 , where he headed the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Infection Immunology. He is the founding editor of the textbook Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases .

After his retirement , he founded the Koch-Metschnikow-Forum in 2006 and since then has devoted himself to intensifying German-Russian cooperation in health care.
