Helmut Hey

Helmut Hey (* 1951 ) is a German politician of the SPD . From 2002 to 2014 he was Lord Mayor of Schwandorf .

Hey was elected Lord Mayor in 2002 and confirmed in this office in 2008. Before that he was a member of the Schwandorf City Council for 24 years (1978 to 2002) . From 1984 to 2014 he was also a member of the district council of the Schwandorf district . Until he was elected mayor, Helmut Hey worked as a lawyer in Schwandorf.

Awards

During a ceremony on April 25, 2014, he was awarded the title of former mayor and at the same time the honorary citizenship of the large district town of Schwandorf.
