Helmut Rankl

Helmut Rankl is a German historian .

Life

From 1967 to 2002 he worked in the Bavarian high school service. After receiving his doctorate in Munich in 1970 , he had been teaching Bavarian history at LMU since 1991 . After completing his habilitation in 1996 at LMU, he became an adjunct professor for Bavarian regional history.

His main research areas are the late Middle Ages and the early modern period : agricultural and rural social history , urban history and the relationship between church and state.
