Helmut Sander (* 1920 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld ; † May 21, 1988 ) was a German local politician and twice Lord Mayor of the Lower Saxony city ​​of Goslar .

Life

Helmut Sander was an employee at the Clausthal Mining Academy when he was young . In his later home town of Oker , he was a councilor for eight years in the 1960s. After the regional reform and incorporation of Okers into Goslar, Sander was mayor of the city of Goslar from 1972 to 1981 and was re-elected to this office in 1986, which he held until his death two years later.

Honors

The “Helmut-Sander-Sporthalle” in the Goslar district of Oker is named after him, and since 2003 the “Helmut-Sander-Straße” in Goslar.
