Helmut Schubert (materials scientist)

Helmut Schubert (born October 3, 1951 ; † March 14, 2012 ) was a German materials scientist .

Life

Helmut Schubert studied from 1974 to 1980 at the RWTH Aachen and was in 1987 at the University of Stuttgart Dr. rer. nat. PhD . After working at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart, he took over the management of the ceramics department in the Process Science Faculty at the Technical University of Berlin in 1995 .

As vice dean and dean for studies and teaching, he was significantly involved in the development of the bachelor's and master's degrees in his faculty. He was the ombudsman of the TU Berlin and headed the committee for research and young scientists of the Academic Senate .

With the establishment of the Unifying Concepts Cluster of Excellence in Catalysis in 2007, Schubert was part of its core team.

In addition to ceramic process technology and catalyst design, his main research interests also included the design of biomedical materials.
