Helmut Umbach

Helmut Heinrich Bruno Umbach (born June 5, 1953 in Gudensberg , North Hesse ) is a German Protestant pastor and theologian.

Life

Umbach studied Protestant theology at the Bethel Church University and the Georg-August University in Göttingen . The first professional stations were the parish office in Bad Emstal and the evangelical preacher seminar Hofgeismar . With a doctoral thesis on the theology of Paul of Tarsus , he was awarded Dr. theol. PhD. In 1994 he came to the study house of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in Göttingen as head of studies . At that time, already married, he became active in the Corps Teutonia-Hercynia Göttingen. 1995 recipiert , he played a regular activity with Fuchsen- and active time. He fought four lengths and ran several batches . In 2000 he became dean in the Fritzlar parish , after its merger in the Fritzlar-Homberg parish . As a lecturer , he completed his habilitation in 2004 at the University of Kassel . Since then he has been teaching there as an adjunct professor at the Institute for Protestant Theology. He retired in the church district in January 2016.
