Helmut Utzschneider

Helmut Utzschneider (born March 3, 1949 in Gessertshausen ) was Professor of the Old Testament at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau from 1992 to 2014 .

Career

Utzschneider received his doctorate in 1979 under Klaus Baltzer with a thesis on the Hoseabuch (see below), in 1987 he completed his habilitation. From 1987 to 1990 he was a private lecturer at the LMU Munich . In 1990 he was offered the chair for the Old Testament at the Bethel Church University , which he held until 1991. In 1992 he was called to Neuendettelsau. In the summer semester of 2014, he finished his active teaching at Augustana.

Utzschneider is the leading co-editor in the field of dodecapropheton of the German translation of the Septuagint in the project "Septuaginta German".

During the 2017 revision of the Luther Bible, he was responsible for the book Exodus .
