Helmut von Zech (* 1955) is a German local and state politician ( FDP ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

From 1972 von Zech completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Commerzbank in Hamburg . After his military service with the German Navy , he returned to the Commerzbank in 1977 , for which he was employed until 2014. Since 1987 he was an authorized signatory and from 2001 to 2009 he was head of the Warburg branch (East Westphalia)

His political career began in 1971 when he joined the FDP in Wedel / Holst. From 1991 to 2017 he was the local chairman of the FDP local association in Zierenberg . He was city councilor and parliamentary group leader of the FDP in the city of Zierenberg and from March 2014 to April 2018 treasurer of the FDP district association Kassel Land.

Since April 2016 he has been the first city councilor of the city of Zierenberg.

He was a member of the Hessian state parliament in the 18th electoral period from 2009 to 2014 and spokesman for sports policy and consumer protection for the FDP parliamentary group.
