from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Helsingin-Sanomat Literature Prize (Original: Helsingin Sanomain kirjallisuuspalkinto ) is a Finnish literature prize . It is named after the Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat with the highest circulation and was donated by it in 1995 as a successor to the previously abolished J. H. Erkon Prize . The best debut works are awarded annually, although the form of poetry, novella or novel remains open. The prize is currently endowed with 15,000 euros.

Of the 19 novels awarded up to 2013, four have so far been translated into German. The Berlin Transit Verlag published the two winning novels of 2011 and 2012 in 2013.
