Helsinki Convention (1974)

The Helsinki Convention is a multilateral environmental agreement for the protection of the Baltic Sea . The convention was signed in 1974 by the seven countries bordering the Baltic Sea and came into force on May 3, 1980. Was extended the Helsinki Convention by amendments in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992 and 1993. The Convention was adopted by the 1992, 1999 at the Helsinki Commission stored and entered into force in 2000 Helsinki Convention replaced.
