The Henan University (Ch.河南大学, Henan Daxue) is incorporated in 1912 state university in the People's Republic of China . It is based in Kaifeng , a district-free city in the Chinese province of Henan .

history

It was originally named The Preparatory School for Further Study in Europe and America , after which it was renamed several times: Zhongzhou University (1923), Henan Zhongshan University (1927), Henan Provincial University (1930), Henan National University (1942), Henan Teachers College (1953), Kaifeng Teachers College (1956), Henan Teachers University (1979) and, since May 1984, Henan University .
