Hendrik Bogaert

Hendrik Bogaert (born August 30, 1968 in Bruges ) is a Belgian politician of the Christians Democratisch en Vlaams (CD&V). He is a member of the Federal Chamber of Deputies and held the post of State Secretary for Public Administration and the Modernization of the Public Service in the Di Rupo government from 2011 to 2014 .

Life

Hendrik Bogaert studied applied economics at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and graduated in 1993 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School . Then he took over the management of the family business (chocolate production).

Bogaert began his political career at CD&V in the municipality of Jabbeke , where he held the office of first lay judge from 2000. The jump to the federal Chamber of Deputies took place after the federal elections of 2003. There, Hendrik Bogaert was considered one of the budget experts of his party.

On December 6, 2011, Bogaert, who had meanwhile been appointed Mayor of Jabbeke, was appointed State Secretary for Public Administration and the Modernization of Public Services in the Di Rupo federal government .

Hendrik Bogaert is a knight of the Leopold Order .
