Heney Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .

The island is 2 km long and 420 meters wide. The total area of ​​the island is 39.7 hectares. It is approximately 3.6 kilometers from mainland Australia.

The island is the easternmost and largest island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the western neighboring island is Dove Island .
