Heney Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .
The island is 2 km long and 420 meters wide. The total area of the island is 39.7 hectares. It is approximately 3.6 kilometers from mainland Australia.
The island is the easternmost and largest island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the western neighboring island is Dove Island .
