Dove Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .
The island is 270 meters long and 100 meters wide. The total area of the island is 2.3 hectares. It is about 5.5 kilometers from mainland Australia.
The island is the second-easternmost island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the western neighboring island is Whipp Island , the eastern neighboring island is called Heney Island .
