Dove Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .

The island is 270 meters long and 100 meters wide. The total area of ​​the island is 2.3 hectares. It is about 5.5 kilometers from mainland Australia.

The island is the second-easternmost island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the western neighboring island is Whipp Island , the eastern neighboring island is called Heney Island .
