Stallion sculpture oleander
The bronze sculpture of the oleander racehorse is a memorial and is located in the Quadrath-Ichendorf district in the district town of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district .
history
It is popularly called "Oleander" and is reminiscent of the most famous racehorse of the Schlenderhan Stud . The bronze sculpture “The Stallion” was created in 1972/73 by the artist Ernemann Friedrich Sander , who lives in Königswinter . According to the artist, the sculpture of the rearing stallion shows the animal's vitality and apparently unrestrained wildness, which are curbed by the sculptor's artistic means. The outlines and modeling condense to form the ideal image of a horse that is supposed to represent Schlenderhan's extraordinary breeding successes. The choice of the location with a view to the stud building is also an artistic intention.
monument
The sculpture is entered with the monument number 243 in the list of architectural monuments in Quadrath-Ichendorf .
