Hengtong (SSE: 600487) is a Chinese power and fiber optic cable manufacturer . According to the market research company Integer, it was one of the Top 100 Global Wire & Cable Producers in 2017. In this ranking, it was the only Chinese cable manufacturer in the top 10.
Between 2008 and 2012 it had a sales growth of 46.5 percent.
Hengtong was founded in 1993 as the Chinese-Japanese joint venture Wujiang Miaodu Optical Cable. The shares have been traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2003 .
Together with the Leoni subsidiary j-fiber, Hengtong has the joint venture j-fiber Hengtong GmbH. The aim is to produce singlemode fibers in Germany.
