Henning Foerster (born June 15, 1975 in Gotha ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was from 2011 to 2016 and has been a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania again since the end of August 2017 .

Before joining the state parliament, Foerster was the chairman of the works council of DB Dialog GmbH at the Schwerin site for five years . He has been a member of the railway and transport union (formerly Transnet) since his apprenticeship at Deutsche Bahn AG. He represents his union in the DGB city ​​council of the state capital. In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2011 , he was elected to the state parliament for the first time. From 2009 to 2014 he was deputy chairman of the Left Party in the Schwerin city council. For the 2014 local elections, the LINKE in Schwerin nominated him as a top candidate. After the election, the new parliamentary group elected him as group chairman. For the state elections in 2016, Foerster ran again as a direct candidate in constituency 8. After leaving the state parliament, Foerster started working as a trade union secretary at the EVG in Rostock .
