Henning Stichtenoth

Henning Stichtenoth (born November 3, 1944 ) is a German mathematician.

Stichtenoth received his doctorate in 1972 under Peter Roquette at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg ( on the automorphism group of an algebraic function field with prime number characteristics ). Until 2007 he was a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen . He is currently a professor at Sabanci University in Istanbul .

He deals with algebraic geometry, algebraic function fields and their application in coding theory and cryptography.
