Henri-Chapelle
Henri-Chapelle (German Heinrichskapelle ) is a Belgian village and since the municipal merger in 1977 a district of Welkenraedt . It is located about 17 km southwest of Aachen .
Henri-Chapelle is a historical place located on a hill on the former military road Aachen-Reims or Aachen-Liège-Brussels (now called Route Charlemagne ). Due to its altitude, it was an important stopping and resting place on this road. The current route of the road was laid out around 1750, and it was expanded under French rule around 1800. The place belonged to the Duchy of Limburg until 1792 and was under the jurisdiction and parish administration of the Hochbank Baelen .
The Gülpbach rises on the outskirts and flows into the Göhl after 18 km in Gulpen in the Netherlands .
