Aubel is a Belgian municipality in the Walloon province of Liège with 4288 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and an area of ​​18.83 km².

The hamlet of Saint-Jean-Sart ( Dutch Sint Jansrade) and La Clouse ( German Klause) belong to the municipality . While French is spoken almost exclusively in the Aubel region today, a Limburg dialect was spoken well into the 20th century . The municipality belongs to the Land van Herve and the area is dominated by agriculture.

The area around Aubel is known for the products of its food industry. Large slaughterhouses, meat processing companies, as well as cheese production , cider , beer and apple cabbage (Sirop de Liège).
