Ans is a Belgian municipality in the north of the province of Liège in the Wallonia region .

It borders the city of Liège in the southeast and, with its 28,373 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), consists of the main town and the districts of Alleur, Loncin and Xhendremael.

Its history is shaped by coal mining. The coal was used from the 13th century, and the community had up to 4 coal mines.

At the station Ans on the railway line Brussels-Liege travel daily about 125 trains. Every year the cycling classic Liège – Bastogne – Liège ends in Ans on Rue Jean Jaurès.

The mayor was Grégory Philippin in 2017.
