Trooz ( Walloon Li Trô ) is a francophone Belgian municipality in the Wallonia region in the greater Liège area . It is located in the Liege arrondissement in the province of Liege .

The town, which is characterized by heavy industry , is located in the Vesdre valley 10 kilometers south-east of Liège. Verviers is 12 km east-north-east, the Dutch city of Maastricht 30 km north, Aachen 36 km north-east and the Belgian capital Brussels 96 km north-west (all information as the crow flies to the city center).

The next motorway exit Beaufays is about 4 km to the south-west on the A26 / E 25 , others are near Liège, Herve (on the A3 / E 40 ) and Verviers (on the A27 / E 42 ).

Trooz has a regional train station on the Aachen – Liège line ; Interregional express trains such as u. a. the Thalys on the link Paris - Brussels - Liège - Aachen - Cologne .

The nearest regional airport is near the city of Liège, and there is an international airport near Brussels.
