Saint-Nicolas ( Walloon Sint-Nicolêye ) is a municipality in the province of Liege in Belgium . It consists of the three districts of Montegnée , Saint-Nicolas and Tilleur , which were merged as part of the territorial reform that came into force in 1977 .

The municipality of Saint-Nicolas is located in eastern Belgium about 90 km from the capital, Brussels. The neighboring municipalities of Grâce-Hollogne , Ans , Liège and Seraing are all in the Arrondissement of Liège.

politics

The Saint-Nicolas parish council ( Conseil Communal ) has 27 members. After the local elections on October 8, 2006, its composition was as follows: 19 members of the Party ( Parti Socialiste ), 7 members of the Ensemble list , which consists of members of the Mouvement Réformateur , Center Démocrate Humaniste and Alternative socialiste parties , and one member of the Environment Party Ecolo . The college with the mayor and five lay judges ( Echevins ) is formed from the municipal council .
