Georges Joseph Haezaert CSSp (born June 28, 1883 in Saint-Nicolas , Belgium , † September 29, 1957 ) was a Belgian Roman Catholic religious and apostolic vicar of North Katanga .

Life

Georges Joseph Haezaert joined the Congregation of the Holy Ghost in and received on 28 October 1912, the sacrament of Holy Orders . On February 11, 1931, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Apostolic Prefect of North Katanga.

On June 18, 1935, Georges Joseph Haezaert became the first Vicar Apostolic of North Katanga and Pius XI as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture of North Katanga to the Apostolic Vicariate. appointed him titular bishop of Pertusa . The Archbishop of Mechelen , Cardinal Jozef-Ernest Van Roey , donated him episcopal ordination on November 30th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Mechelen, Jean Marie van Cauwenbergh , and the vicar apostolic of Niangara , Robert Constant Lagae OP .

Georges Joseph Haezaert resigned as Vicar Apostolic of North Katanga on July 20, 1949.
